The Bradley Group Reunion!

February 1st we attended the first Bradley Group Reunion. This is a group of parents that we went through the Bradley Method classes with. Of all the things that Amber and I did to prepare for Tristan's birth, I think that these classes had the biggest impact on me. I highly recommend them for any expecting parents out there regardless of their preferred birthing method. Our Teacher Chan McDermott was amazing. I'm a big fan of "safety in numbers" and it was great to go through the pregnancy experience with all those folks.

We met at the Austin's Children's Museum downtown. One of the fathers, Jason, works for the museum and made it available for us. It was the perfect setting for the reunion, because there was so much for the kids to see and do. Jason took us on a tour of the museum and showed us the different exhibits and then we had some great pizza and a great time sitting around and shooting the bull about raising our babies. It was very cool to hear everyone's stories and how similar the trials and tribulations are in raising a baby. Not everyone in the group was able to attend, so we will have to make another date so that we can see the rest of the little ones. I have to say that I feel a very special connection to all the folks that we attend the classes with and I hope that the feeling is mutual.

At the end of the day, we put the kids in the kiddie coral and let them play together and explore the different areas. The conversation about raising kids continued and it was interesting to get so many perspectives from the other folks whose children are so close in age to ours.
