Just Keeping Up!

So it's been business as usual since the reunion a few months ago. We are getting closer and closer to spring and this year we are taking Tristan to the mountains with the whole family. Gran and Grampie, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. We are all making the trek North in about a week to the great Rocky Mountains. I'm sure that we will have tons of great pictures.

We are all driving, so I'm sure that it's going to be an adventure. Tristan usually enjoys riding in the car. We have moved to the second stage car seat that sits a little higher, so he can see out of the window a little better. Still rear facing for safety!

Tristan is really starting to scoot around the house. The military tummy squirm has transitioned nicely into a full on crawl. Tristan likes to try to sneak into the kitchen to play in the dog water. When he starts heading for the bowl, I ask him "Where are you going?" . . . he stops giggles then starts again. Then I crawl up behind him, and when he notices that I'm there he starts into a full crawl/sprint and I grab him right before he gets to the bowl. He really enjoys this game and it's always fun! Once I put him back in the family room . . .he starts heading for that bowl again!

There are those brief moments where he can stand on his own and it's always better if he has something in his hands that he is focused on. I sit with him and hold him up and let him go and he stays upright for a few seconds and we even do the finger walking, but I think that we are still a few months away from an upright baby. I don't even know what I'm going to do when he starts walking . . . He's going to be all growns up, and growns up, and growns up. It makes me teary just thinking about it. I know that it's a whole new world with an upright baby, but I'm also looking forward to running and jumping and falling and rolling and bloody knees and all the great things that go along with having GREAT KIDS!

Amber decided to let Tristan have a go at feeding himself. She gave him some baby food and a strange feeding device and let him at it the other night. She said that he had a really good time figuring the whole thing out. Of course he went straight from the highchair to the bath, but those are good times . . . .always. I'm sure there is going to be a very similar episode soon that involves mud!

Enjoy the pictures.
