Christmas 2006

I know that this is out of order, but none the less . . . here is Christmas!

I’m sitting here right now trying to remember all the stuff that we did on and for Christmas this year. So much has happened including New Years and the great ice storm of 07. To tell you the truth, I’m getting tired of this cold and rainy weather. I’ve got things to do out in the yard and all this rain isn’t helping me at all. I know that we really need the rain so I guess it’s bitter sweet.

This year we did Christmas day at my parent’s house along with my sister’s family. We had a lot of fun from breakfast that started just after 11:00, to dinner that night. My uncle Karl, my mother’s brother always comes out from California to spent time with the family for Christmas.

There is a picture down below of my niece, Ashley, wearing a t-shirt that says mugwump. When I was much younger our family got a cat and my dad wanted to name it mugwump, but my sister and I refused so my mom went out and got this t-shirt made for my dad. I can remember those days, even though I think that I was about 6 years old. My mom preserved the mugwump tradition, which is surprising because most old t-shirts become work shirts.

My parents wrapped it up and gave it to Ashley as a present. It was a pretty neat transition of generations.

Christmas continued with Amber’s family at our house. Amber’s brother, Adam and his girlfriend Tyree came along with her two children Garrett and Devan. Nicole was present with Damek and Kael and Grandma and Grampa a.k.a Vicki and Lenny, Amber’s mother and her husband. This year Renae stayed up in Baltimore, but we are hoping to see her sometime this summer or earlier.

It was a great 1st Christmas for Tristan and our first Christmas in our new house. Now if we can just get through to Amber’s Birthday and the summer, I think that we will make it. I have a really good feeling about 07 and I hope that this positive karma extends to all our friends and loved ones.
